An indoor play space designed for families, not just kids
The Play Nook was created from real-life experiences as parents and family members who spent years in play spaces that felt loud, crowded, and overwhelming. We knew play didn’t have to feel that way to be meaningful.
We wanted to create something different. A place where children could use their imagination freely, and where parents could feel comfortable, relaxed, and genuinely enjoy being there too.
The story behind the space
We are Maria and Tim, a sister and brother team who both spent our careers working around children and families.
Maria worked as a pediatric nurse, supporting children with disabilities and their parents. Tim served as a police officer focused on community safety and family programs, including events for children with medical needs.
Those experiences are a big part of why The Play Nook means so much to us. We wanted to build a space where kids can play freely and families feel at ease from the moment they walk in.
Our approach to play
Imagination without the overwhelm
We believe play should feel natural, meaningful, and balanced. That’s why The Play Nook is designed around open-ended play that nurtures imagination while keeping the experience enjoyable for both children and parents.
Our environment is thoughtfully laid out, allowing children to explore at their own pace while supporting regulation and ease. There’s room to create, move, and discover in a space that feels comfortable, engaging, and family-friendly.
